UNIVERSAL CITY, California – March 11, 2010 — NBC’s top-rated summer show “America’s Got Talent,” will tape shows in front of a live audience in cities across the country beginning this Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13, in Los Angeles. After Los Angeles, the #1 talent competition series will travel to Portland, Dallas, Orlando, New York and Chicago through March and April.

Host Nick Cannon, returning judges Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan as well as this season’s new judge, comedian Howie Mandel, will be at each taping.

“America’s Got Talent,” NBC’s top rated summer series from “American Idol” producers FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television, returns for a fifth season this summer with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, June 1 (8-10 p.m. ET) followed by a Wednesday edition debuting June 2 (9-10 p.m. ET).

With the talent search open to acts of all ages, “America’s Got Talent” has brought the variety format back to the forefront of American culture by showcasing performers from across the country. The series is a true celebration of the American spirit, featuring a colorful array of hopeful stars, including singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists, all vying for their chance to strut and perform on stage hoping to win America’s hearts — and the $1 million prize.

Singing chicken farmer Kevin Skinner was crowned the winner of season four and the victory moved the humble country singer to tears in front of the live nationwide audience. Skinner, who also took home the show’s $1 million prize, headlined the “America’s Got Talent Live,” show hosted by Jerry Springer at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas this past October.

“America’s Got Talent” is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television. Simon Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz (“American Idol”), Jason Raff, and Ken Warwick (“American Idol”) are executive producers.

Her debut album, Some Hearts, was certified seven times platinum, and is the fastest selling debut country album in Nielsen SoundScan history. It is also the best-selling solo female debut album in country music history. Some Hearts yielded three number one hits on the country charts in the United States: “Jesus, Take the Wheel”, “Wasted” and “Before He Cheats”, her biggest hit to date. Some Hearts was recently titled the Top Country Album of the Decade.

Her third album, Play On, was released on November 3, 2009. It has so far sold over 1 million copies since its release. Her first single off the album, “Cowboy Casanova”, was released to country radio on September 14, 2009. The single peaked at number one on the country charts, which made Underwood the artist with the most top 10s on the country chart among solo women of the decade, followed by Faith Hill and Martina McBride each with 9. In November 2009, Underwood attained total domestic album sales of 11 million and became the highest-selling American Idol artist in the United States.

New Broadcast Season Premiere Starts Tonight on PBS

BOSTON, Massachusetts–(Marketwire) – ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, PBS’s most-watched primetime series, has announced its Summer 2010 Tour destinations: San Diego, California; Billings, Montana; Miami Beach, Florida; Biloxi, Mississippi; Des Moines, Iowa; and Washington, DC.

Programs taped in those locations will make up ROADSHOW’s fifteenth broadcast season on PBS, airing in 2011.

“We’re calling this our Crystal Anniversary Tour,” said ANTIQUES ROADSHOW executive producer Marsha Bemko, author of the new book, “Antiques Roadshow Behind the Scenes.” “It’s our way of celebrating ROADSHOW’s fifteen-year romance with America’s stories, its objects, and its extraordinary history.”

ROADSHOW’s 2010 Tour features a series of local events at which top appraisers offer the public free evaluations of antiques and collectibles — revealing the often surprising history and value of these items.
