Before the premiere of the show, Girlicious had already started recording their debut album and working on music videos since the summer of 2007. Originally the group was to be a trio, but was conceived as a quartet, through a final decision of creator, Robin Antin. To date, they have received more attention from the Canadian & Brazilian audiences than the U.S. Girlicious was nominated for "Breakout Group" and "Reality : Music Competition" at the Teen Choice Awards ’08, but did not win in any of the categories.
