LOS ANGELES, California /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Comedy Central’s electrifying and gifted comedian, Gabriel Iglesias, known to millions of fans as the “fluffy” comic in a Hawaiian shirt, has announced his 2010 tour, “COMEDY CENTRAL LIVE: GABRIEL IGLESIAS THE FLUFFY SHOP.” The Live Nation produced tour kicks off on January 14th with a 50 date trek across North America.

Iglesias’s high-octane show is a hilarious mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring all his personal issues to life, with a clean, animated comedy style that has earned national crossover appeal. Iglesias has appeared on such shows as Last Comic Standing, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” COMEDY CENTRAL’s “Premium Blend,” HBO’s “Comedy Minutes,” NBC’s “Showtime at the Apollo,” ABC’s “My Wife And Kids,” Showtime’s original series “Resurrection Blvd,” VH1′s “I Love the 80s,” BET’s “Comic View” and numerous performances on the popular Galavision show “Que Locos.”

Comedy Central will air the world premiere of Iglesias’s one-hour stand-up special, “Gabriel Iglesias: I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy” on Sunday, November 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. On Tuesday, November 10, “Gabriel Iglesias: I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy” stand-up special will be released nationally on DVD by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment and download-to-own including iTunes (pre-order Tuesday, October 27) and Amazon Video On Demand. In addition, the special will be available in standard and high definition versions on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, Zune and Playstation Store.

Gabriel is a comedian who is best known for his loud, funny voices and animated style of comedy. In 2006, Iglesias was a finalist in the fourth season of “Last Comic Standing,” until he was disqualified for multiple violations of the contest agreement, including using a BlackBerry. He was named Comedian of the Year by Comedy Central in 2006.

He is the self-proclaimed “Fluffy Man” (as opposed to fat), in reference to his large frame and his own joke about the Five Levels of Fatness (which are Big, Healthy, Husky, Fluffy and “DAMN!”). In 2009 he introduced a Sixth Level of Fatness namely “Oh Hell No!”. He has made several guest appearances on The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Showtime at the Apollo, Que Locos, as well as three of his own specials on Comedy Central, one of which was voted the half-hour “special of the year for 2003.”

He was named Comedian of the Year by Comedy Central in 2006 and has done a few independent films and voice-over work for Disney Emperor’s New School and his most recent project was a one hour special called Hot & Fluffy which aired August 4, 2007, and was released to DVD four days later. It has sold over 200 thousand copies making him a double platinum selling artist.

He also appeared in one episode of the hit TV show “My Wife and Kids,” as a Japanese chef.

Iglesias can be seen in comedy clubs nationally, touring with his friends and fellow comedians, Martin Moreno, and Noe Gonzalez.
