American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle and George Huff are currently on tour performing in Michael W. Smith’s It’s a Wonderful Christmas.

Featuring “American Idol” alum Melinda Doolittle as special guest, the tour kicked off November 29, in Youngstown, Ohio and will hit major markets like Dallas, St. Paul, Spokane, Portland and more before it concludes in Phoenix on December 19. Each tour date will feature Smith with a full symphony orchestra, performing selections from his three Christmas albums including his acclaimed 2007 release, It’s A Wonderful Christmas.
Melinda finished as the third place finalist on the sixth season of American Idol. Prior to her appearance on American Idol, Doolittle worked as a professional back-up singer for, among others, Michael McDonald, Kirk Franklin, Aaron Neville, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Alabama, Jonny Lang, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Anointed. It was officially announced on July 29, 2008 by Entertainment Weekly that Doolittle has signed with independent label called Hi Fi Recordings and will release her debut CD, “Coming Back to You,” on February 3, 2009.
George Huff was first place among male contestants and overall fifth-place finalist on the third season of American Idol. In 2007 Huff’s song “Brighter Day” was briefly featured in Tyler Perry’s movie “Why Did I Get Married?” starring Janet Jackson.
